Q: I want to learn more about the URES program. How do I get started?
See the University’s URES page to learn more about the University’s rules of the game regarding the URES program, eligibility rules, and contract.
Q: I am interested in working with you on a URES project. How do I make that happen?
In any given semester and over the summer terms I typically supervise 1-2 URES projects where students serve as research assistants for current projects I’m working on. Students will enroll in one credit hour of URES 197, which amounts to about 3 hours of research for me each week and regular meetings to discuss the work assigned and student progress.
Q: What kind of work would I be doing as a student researcher on your URES project?
Students largely work independently in finding and summarizing relevant research, collecting and entering data, and any other relevant tasks as needed. Because students will draw on their research and writing skills, students must have successfully completed at least one course with me and have a minimum overall GPA of 3.0.
